Tucked away in the Florentine hills just 28 km from the cultural centre of Florence, home to the renowned Medici family and birthplace of Renaissance art, this wonderful holiday home in Chianti is the perfect hideaway. The unique setting overlooking the most picturesque stretch of the Pomino and Rufina wine route is a splendid area for nature lovers, walkers and historians alike and for those in search of culture; the beautiful medieval cities of Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, Lucca and Arezzo are within easy reach. Florence is only 30 Km distant.
Descending down a winding tree-lined lane you will be pleasantly surprised to find this charming 15th century rambling stone farmhouse, perched majestically above 20 acres of chestnut woods and olive groves, its beauty further enhanced by layers of stone terracing and our vine-covered pergola gives a shady retreat for outdoor dining. We offer a selection of self-catering apartments for 2 to 6 people within the farmhouse, lovingly restored in keeping with local traditions.
After lazy days relaxing by the swimming pool (13x6m, open May-Oct)or in the secluded gardens, take time out to explore the surrounding countryside, on foot or for the more adventurous on horseback or mountain bike. Enjoy an aperitif in the cool of “La Limonaia” or just soak up the atmosphere of our very own olive press where local olive oil, wine and other products are available or for those cooler evenings curl up with a good book and the inevitable glass of Chianti in front of the log fire.
Each apartment is individual in style, tastefully furnished and decorated in warm Tuscan tones highlighting the typical architecture. Careful attention has been paid to the kitchens and bathrooms and panoramic views unfold from every window, sweeping over rolling hills and unspoilt countryside studded with olive trees and there are ample outside terraces and gardens in which to relax.
