Surrounded by the Chianti countryside, southeast of Florence, these holiday homes in Tuscany were originally built in the 18th century as a hermitage and place of prayer. This beautiful stone holiday farmhouse and other proprieties were later bought by Baron Sonnino and converted into the Casolari farmstead. Bought by the present owner in 1975 the buildings were restored into a villa, a cozy self-catering apartment below the villa and a lovely barn that is an independent house from the villa. Each accommodation has its own private entrance and terrace. The whole structure can comfortably accommodate 13 people and a small swimming pool (8x5m, open May-Sept) with a wonderful view is also available. The farmhouse is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and a private lawn, in perfect isolation far from the madding crowd, and from the terraces one can also enjoy a breathtaking view over the Arno valley and the famous forest of Vallombrosa. These accommodations in Chianti are in a perfect position for visiting the famous art centres of Florence (30 km), Arezzo (60km), Siena and Pisa.
Nearest shops and restaurants: 2 km in Rosano village.
At guest’s disposal internet wi fi connection, washing machine, bycicles, cooking class (on req)
This lovely acommodation for two is in a converted barn just a few meters distant from the main farmhouse. It has two entrances from its spaciuous tiled terrace from where there are great views down the river Arno valley and to the florentine's hills. The terrace is private, with table, chairs and deckchairs.
The apartment is made up of an equipped kitchen to the left of the entrance hall, and on the right a bathroom with shower. There are stairs that lead to the open plan upper floor wich is divided by a wall and two curtains (which can remain open) into three cozy spaces: a sleeping area for two people with cast iron double bed, another sleeping area for two with 2 single beds, dining area and seating with sofa and tv set.* The room is very light with 2 large panoramic windows looking over the valley. There are terracotta floors and beamed ceilings.
